Gianyar
As one of Bali 's most artistic regencies, Gianyar is home to many
renowned artisans who have been blessed with skills of dance, music and
craft. Entire villages earn their livelihoods from the production of
handicrafts such as gold and silver jewelry, stone sculpture,
woodcarving and painting. Perhaps the most well-known destination
within the Gianyar regency is Ubud, which has long been considered the
cultural pulse of Bali . The landscape here is a verdant combination of
terraced rice fields, dense jungle and flowing rivers. Ubud town site
lends itself to charming streets filled with interesting sites and
sounds. There are art galleries and museums to browse through, cafes to
dine at, as well as a traditional market place and specialty boutiques
to explore.
